Wild Swimmin’ Wimmin’
Dive into the joy of open water with this cheerful little celebration of sea-loving spirit! Two fearless glass ladies—one in a bobble hat, the other in a bathing cap—bob along in their painted 'ocean', joined by a couple of nosy gulls hitching a ride on the surf.
Set atop a charmingly wonky slice of reclaimed timber, this sculptural piece captures the magic of wild swimming and seaside camaraderie. Each figure is individually lampworked in my wee studio in the west of Scotland, then kiln-annealed for strength and sparkle. The water shimmers with painted motion, while the gulls float in smug serenity.
Measuring roughly 5 inches tall and 4 inches across, this is a joyful tribute to chilly dips, sea air, and salty hair.
